RvR Psychotherapy

About
I have been formally studying psychology and working in mental health since 2013. I hold a BA Honours in Psychology from Western University and a Masters of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My studies focused on Attachment Theory and Attitude Formation and Change Research. I've worked in various clinical and non-clinical mental health spaces such as hospitals, wellness centres, community public health, and private mental health.
My Approach
Since beginning work as a Psychotherapist it's become clear how impactful interpersonal relationships are on our sense-of-self. We’re hard-wired to want attachment so we twist ourselves in knots to avoid rejection (e.g., anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, codependency, imposter syndrome). This natural process of human connection and self-development becomes even more convoluted if we've experienced any form of abusive relationship.
Relationships are where we learn to gauge our self-worth and value.
Relationships are also where we learn to criticize ourselves and self-doubt.
I hope to untangle the complicated impact of relationships on your sense of self. You can expect to understand how and why your inner critics show up, learn skills to gain control over these critics, and soften their voices. If you have a strong, confident, and reliable relationship with yourself, you can move through the rest of your life with greater clarity, ease, and assurance.
